Chrome vanadium steel 31CrCV3. Swedish pattern jaw set at 15 degrees, manganese phosphate finish, ground head, in accordance with SANS 1211 and DIN 3117.  

Shifting spanners or adjustable wrenches are an open-end wrench with a movable jaw, allowing it to be used with different sizes of fastener head rather than just one fastener size, as with a conventional fixed spanner.
